What are the components of a voltage stabilizer?

What are the components of a stabilized power supply? A DC stabilizer is mainly composed of a power transformer, a rectifier circuit, a filter circuit and a stabilized circuit. The functions of each part are as follows.

1. Power Transformer
Voltage stabilizer Since various electronic devices require DC stabilized power supplies to provide different amplitude voltages, and the AC voltage provided by the mains is generally 220V or 380V, it is necessary to use a transformer to first convert the voltage of the mains into the required AC voltage , And then rectify, filter and stabilize the transformed alternating voltage, and finally obtain the required DC voltage.

2. Rectifier circuit
The voltage stabilizer rectifier circuit uses unidirectional conductive rectifier elements, such as rectifier diodes and thyristors, to convert sinusoidal alternating current with varying size and direction into unidirectional pulsating direct current. However, this kind of unidirectional pulsating voltage contains a large ripple component and generally cannot be used.

3. Filter circuit
The main task of the voltage stabilizer filter circuit is to filter out the ripple components in the rectified unidirectional pulsating DC voltage as much as possible to make it into a smooth DC. The filter circuit is usually composed of energy storage elements such as capacitors and inductors.

4. Voltage regulator circuit
The DC smoothed by the voltage stabilizer cannot meet the requirements of electronic equipment for DC power supply. The main reasons are: first, when the load changes, the output voltage of the rectifier filter will change accordingly; second, when the mains voltage changes and changes ± At 10%, the output voltage also changes accordingly. This has an adverse effect on the work of electronic equipment. The function of the voltage stabilizing circuit is to take certain measures to keep the output DC voltage stable when the mains voltage or load current changes.
